How it started...
Hello, my name is Fenglin. Thank you for taking the time to check out TaylorHe’s passion for creating beautiful things.
We love what we do and want to share a little about how TaylorHe came about.
TaylorHe began as a husband and wife team back in 2009, when we both lost our jobs in the recession. Try as we might, we just could not find new employment in some of the worst economic times we can remember. Like many others going through the same problems, we decided to start our own business and perhaps unsurprisingly TaylorHe has just gone from strength to strength, because what we offer taps into your love of expressing your creative side.
Armed with little entrepreneurial experience and with help from my late father, (who deserves a special mention for always believing in us when others wouldn't) we set out in the business world.
As it developed...
We started selling electronic accessories, but after finding some vinyl skins for tech when visiting China, a light came on, you might say. We offered the chance for people to express their individuality with gadgets and gizmos that are otherwise all alike and this side of the business really took off, so we took the plunge shifting focus and never looked back.
In spite of continuing recession, we rented a small unit in Chaddesden, Derbyshire, then soon after, we took on our first member of staff. Within 10 months, we moved to an office in Derby city centre. A year later we expanded with our own building, complete with offices, a warehouse and a manufacturing unit. Equipped with top of the range machines, we now produce all of our own skins here in the UK, as well as a variety of products.
With passion for deigns and product development equipped with years of experience in graphics design, I created our first pattern collection in spring 2016 and applied them on a range of small bags. My thought for this first collection was to combine simplicity with liveliness, colourful yet calm and peaceful. I was very pleased to receive positive feedbacks on our first collection, from buyers at trade shows as well as customers directly. Encouraged by this, I carried on with our second collection then third. Now we have expanded product range from bags to placemats and coasters, cushions, mugs even clocks.
For how much I have enjoyed pattern designs and product developments, I'm learning new techniques, exploring and experimenting ideas. I'm grateful for the opportunity to do something I love and hopefully you will see something very exciting very soon.
